Australian Public Service Digital Career Pathways

digital career path in the APS system

Australian Public Service (APS) Digital Career Pathways have recently been published by the Australian Government’s Digital Transformation Agency (DTA).

This includes a set of role profiles, which have been defined using SFIA – the Skills Framework for the Information Age.

We expect there will be some updates in future iterations to address a few minor anomalies, but this is a really good start for what is labelled as an ‘alpha release’. Credit to Grant Nicholson and his team at the DTA – Grant sits on the SFIA Council with me and several other passionate advocates and users of SFIA, providing feedback and ideas which have been invaluable when producing the last couple of versions of the SFIA framework, and in preparing guidance around how to get the best value from using SFIA.
